Reverse osmosis is a water treatment process that forces water through an extremely fine membrane to remove dissolved minerals. Purified water passes through the membrane and collects in a storage container to remove and reject up to 99% of impurities and contaminants from water.

Four Stages of a Reverse Osmosis System

• Stage 1 is a sediment filter which serves to remove physical particles.
• Stage 2 is a carbon block filter which serves to remove unwanted chemicals.
• Stage 3 is the reverse osmosis membrane which removes up to 98% of dissolved mineral salts, metals, and other contaminants.
• Stage 4 Inline Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) filter which removes unwanted tastes and odors.
